Welcome to the new internet home for Southwind Gundogs. We are a small kennel located in south-central Kansas. We specialize in the breeding and training of German Shorthaired Pointers. Our goal is to be the leading breeder of black and white field trial bred Shorthairs. Our strain of Shorthairs are centered around some of the best field-trial bloodlines in the country. Crossing these genetics should produce black and whites that hunt all day, cover the ground well, and show exceptional style and natural ability. All of our dogs have exceptional pedigrees, and are proven gundogs as well. Our bloodlines include NFC Heide's Mighty City Slicker, NFC Rawhides Clown, FC Dixieland Rusty, NC BMK's Strike the Gold, NC Bluemax Spitfire V Grief, NFC NRC's Magnum's Touch of Gold, NSDC Heide-Ho Pinehurst, NFC Sanjo Sin City Slicker, NC Strike's Flash of Gold, NGDC BDK's Shake the Bank, NGDC CCK's Sin City G Spot, and NFC Heide-Ho's MRT. All Southwind Gundogs are worked year around on liberated birds, are used as guide dogs during preserve season, and are all hunted on wild pheasant and quail in Kansas. Our training program is set up with the foot hunter or walking field trialer in mind. We have chosen NSTRA as our field trial of choice, and we will be entering our first trials in the fall '07 season. Southwind gaurantees the health and ability of every dog it sells. In addition to the sale of puppies, started and finished dogs, we are able to board and train client's dogs on a month by month basis.
